About this ski
The Numero Uno GS is the ‘cheater’ (consumer) GS ski. GS – Giant Slalom – refers to the longer radius (at least, as opposed to the SL, which refers to the short radius SL turn skis). Anyway, a consumer ski that is race-inspired for longer turns. Every brand has one of these. And they all kind of do the same thing. They have great grip and edge hold, excel at higher speeds and are a stable joy for those who want to go fast and steady.
This is no exception. There is also a Numero Uno RC (same concept, just a bit lighter built and a bot more easy-going), which is great if you aren’t that fast or powerful. If you do like yourself some speed and acceleration, though, get the GS instead.
Steady
The beauty of the Numero Uno GS is that it is just a touch more approachable compared to any other cheater GS ski from any other brand. Most of those require some focus, good technique and some space to get them going. This Numero Uno needs less of those ingredients that make cheater GS skis not for everyone.
In fact, I think this IS the GS ski for anyone. And for every-day use. In bumps and softer conditions (on-piste) this, will handle beautifully, whereas other GS skis may kick you around quite a bit. The Numero Uno is by no means an all-condition ski (it is a cheater GS ski after all), but of the bunch, this is the most allround in terms of conditions it will take.
Conclusion
A docile cheater GS that performs in most on-piste conditions you will encounter.
