About this ski
This Turbo 85 is in Blossom’s allmountain range. That’s what the ‘AM’ stands for. Personally, I would rather call it an all-condition ski. That is to say, I wouldn’t take it off-piste in a bottomless pow kind of way. Width only 85 mm underfoot and a more rounded tip shape, it is not a floaty ski. It wasn’t intended as one, though.
This is the all-condition cruising ski that is great for 90% of recreational skiers. Nothing demanding, handles hard snow quite alright, slush and bumps very well. This is an on-groomer ski for spring conditions.
Easy
It is predictable and does everything you ask from it. Short turns, long turns, skidded or carved – and in all conditions that you can find out there. It doesn’t have the tenacity on icy slopes that you would get for a racing design. But what do you expect? For this kind of ski, that’s hardly a surprise.
Is does come with a speed limit, though. When you push it faster or ski faster, the skis at some point just don’t go faster. It’s like a Toyota Corolla: it works for most things great. Just don’t expect to win any races on them. In that sense, the name ‘Turbo’ is a bit misleading.
Conclusion
A lovely stable and easy going all-condition cruiser for people who don’t go fast.
